Cyprus Airports: Larnaca or Paphos? Buses, Fares and Taxis

Larnaca Airport has direct scheduled buses to Larnaca town, Nicosia and Limassol, plus seasonal shuttles to Ayia Napa and Protaras, while Paphos Airport has them to Paphos, Limassol and Nicosia. This page tables every fare, stop and departure window confirmed from official sources on 9 October 2026, plus the regulated urban taxi tariff.

Published on October 9, 2026 by Alex Borshch · 10 min read

Larnaca Airport (LCA) has direct scheduled buses to Larnaca town (€2.70 cash by day), Nicosia (€9) and Limassol (€10), plus seasonal shuttles to Ayia Napa (from €13) and Protaras (€15) whose current timetable listed no departures on 9 October 2026. Paphos Airport (PFO) has direct buses to Paphos (€2.00 by day), Limassol (€10) and Nicosia (€18). Polis, Latchi and Platres need a change from either airport. Fares are adult singles as listed on 9 October 2026.

The tables below set those services out, show where each bus stops and give the regulated taxi tariff. This is desk research covering the Republic of Cyprus (the south) only. Where a figure could not be confirmed, the cell says so.

Cyprus airports: which one for your base

The Republic of Cyprus has two international airports, Larnaca (LCA) and Paphos (PFO), both operated by Hermes Airports. A search for an Ayia Napa airport or a Limassol airport leads back to this pair. Our Larnaca Airport guide and Paphos Airport guide cover the terminals, and this page covers the journey onward.

For each base, the table shows whether a scheduled bus runs from each airport without a change, with the adult single fare listed on 9 October 2026. "Change" means no direct service was confirmed, which is not proof that none exists. Still choosing a base? Where to stay in Cyprus compares all eight.

Larnaca town, Ayia Napa and Protaras have a confirmed direct bus from Larnaca Airport only, and the two resort shuttles are seasonal. From Paphos Airport, Kapnos connects to those resorts via Larnaca Airport. Paphos is the reverse, and Polis and Latchi are reached through Paphos from either airport. Nicosia has a Kapnos shuttle from both, at €9 from Larnaca against €18 from Paphos (as of 9 October 2026), and the Paphos one may involve a vehicle change. Limassol costs €10 from either, so pick that flight on price and arrival time.

"Direct" means direct to the operator's stop, which is rarely your hotel. There is no distance column, because operator-published road distances turned up for two pairs only. Kapnos puts Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa at roughly 50 km along the A3 motorway. For the Protaras resort area it gives 54 to 66 km by road.

Departures are the first and last listed from the airport. The final column is the date the operator attaches to its fare.

Larnaca town. Route 425 is the cheap way into Larnaca: €2.70 in cash by day under the Cyprus Public Transport (CPT) fares in force from 3 August 2026, or €4.70 between 21:00 and 04:00. A notice effective 1 September 2025 put the route on a 30-minute frequency, Monday to Sunday. CPT describes Finikoudes as a 7-minute walk from Larnaca Station. Its older route map shows a Finikoudes stop, but a current one was not confirmed, so plan on the station.

Ayia Napa and Protaras. Kapnos Airport Shuttle prices Ayia Napa from €13 on a page dated 28 June 2026. The same page also calls the fare fixed and describes dynamic pricing, so treat €13 as the floor. On Fridays the first departure is 04:00, not 02:30. Protaras costs €15 (same date) and takes about 65 minutes out and about 60 minutes back. Its stops are on Pernera Avenue and at the McDonald's stop on Protaras Avenue, not at Fig Tree Bay.

Both shuttles are seasonal, and Kapnos's own sources disagreed on 9 October 2026: the June pages describe daily departures, while the current timetable for the route showed no departures available. Check that timetable for your dates before counting on either shuttle. If nothing is running, the fallback is a taxi on the fixed airport schedule described below.

Nicosia and Limassol. The Kapnos shuttle to Nicosia (€9, on an undated timetable seen on 9 October 2026) ends at its Kyrenias Avenue station in Aglandjia, not at Solomos Square, and its 04:45 departure does not run on Sundays. The Limassol Airport Express (€10, timetable valid from 1 July 2026) serves a tourist-area stop opposite St Raphael and ends at Agios Georgios Havouzas station. For public holidays such as Christmas, New Year and Easter, the operator asks passengers to request a revised itinerary. In both towns the onward connection and its fare were not confirmed.

Larnaca local buses that call at the airport

CPT also runs local routes through the airport on the same urban fares, in force from 3 August 2026. Drivers sell single tickets for cash, accepting only coins of €0.05 or more and banknotes up to €20. The cheaper fare needs a plastic Motion card, which costs €5.00 to issue and must be topped up before you board.

Route 431, shown on the older map, no longer runs: a CPT notice of 12 January 2026 says routes 430 and 432 serve it instead, and gives route 430 a new route and timetable linking Dromolaxia, Kiti and Pervolia. Route 407 had its weekday timetable changed from 7 September 2026, but its current alignment was not confirmed.

Buses from Paphos Airport: 612, 613 and two coaches

Two local buses and two coach services leave Paphos Airport. No published journey time was found for any of them.

Both local buses cost €2.00 by day (undated fare page, seen on 9 October 2026). Route 612 is the one for Kato Paphos: it serves the Almyra and Poseidonos corridor and Kings Avenue Mall before ending at Tombs of Kings Station. Route 611 serves the harbour from that station. Route 613 runs via Geroskipou to Karavella Station, the starting point for buses to Polis. Pafos Transport Organisation says these two airport lines run year-round without changes.

At night the same page lists a €3.00 ticket, sold only on the bus. Separate wording there refers to an evening paper ticket with a maximum charge not exceeding €3.50, so carry the higher amount if you land late (undated page, seen on 9 October 2026). The last 612 departure from the airport is listed at 01:00.

The Limassol Airport Express charges €10 from Paphos Airport as well (timetable valid from 1 July 2026). Its departures differ from day to day, and the same public-holiday rule applies, so read the operator's Paphos itinerary for your date. The Kapnos shuttle to Nicosia also changes by day:

Wednesday10:3017:30
Thursday10:3015:30

Saturday10:3022:45
Sunday08:4517:30

The printed Kapnos fare is €18 per adult each way, with students at €12 and children up to 12 free, on a timetable with no validity date (seen on 9 October 2026). It is headed for Nicosia and Larnaca, and warns that the journey may include a short stop, a vehicle change, or both. Monday shows three departures (12:00, 18:30 and 21:15). Thursday's last one is 15:30, so a Thursday evening arrival has no listed shuttle. Which Larnaca stop the timetable means, and whether €18 applies to it, was not confirmed.

Journeys that need a change: Paphos from Larnaca, Polis, Latchi, Platres

No direct airport bus was confirmed for these journeys. We found no through fare for any of them and could not confirm that the legs connect.

Polis is the simplest of these by bus: route 613 to Karavella Station, then route 645 to Polis on a timetable that varies by day. Latchi is one more leg on route 622 (Polis, Prodromi, Latchi, Baths of Aphrodite), listed on 9 October 2026 as running from Polis daily between 06:00 and 18:00, so an evening arrival should not count on reaching it by bus the same day.

Intercity's Larnaca to Paphos coach is listed Monday to Friday only. It leaves from the Nikolaidis Building in Larnaca, not the airport, runs via Limassol, and its route page lists the single fare as €5 + €5 (undated, seen on 9 October 2026). Platres depends on EMEL route 64 (Troodos, Saittas, Limassol), whose stop list names EMEL Bus Station Leontiou A' in Limassol. A shared stop with the Airport Express at Havouzas was not confirmed, so allow for a transfer across town. Our guide to getting around Cyprus covers hire cars and the limits of rural buses.

Kapnos's booking conditions allow each passenger one piece of luggage up to 20 kg and one carry-on up to 8 kg, and each extra piece up to 20 kg costs one adult ticket for the route. CPT's conditions of carriage cover small, non-bulky luggage at the driver's discretion, so a large suitcase on route 425 is not guaranteed a place.

On board, Kapnos's Nicosia timetables say card payments only. Pafos Transport sells one-way tickets on the bus, and we could not confirm whether cards are accepted. Kapnos's homepage and booking conditions offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure, while its Ayia Napa page states a €1 fee per ticket for the same notice; later cancellations get no refund (all seen on 9 October 2026). The Limassol Airport Express homepage advertises online booking, but its booking page said the service was coming soon.

Child fares, where published: the Limassol Airport Express charges €5 for ages 3 to 12 (timetable valid from 1 July 2026), and Kapnos lists €5 to Protaras for ages 2 to 12, with under-twos free (page dated 28 June 2026).

Taxis from the airport: fixed fares and the urban tariff

Journeys to and from the airports are priced from a schedule of fixed fares by destination, set by regulation K.D.P. 79/2021 (published 19 February 2021, in force from 1 March 2021). It has separate day (06:00 to 20:30) and night (20:30 to 06:00) fares, and separate columns for taxis carrying up to four passengers and five to six. The fixed fares include luggage and VAT, and the schedule also applies on public holidays. Hermes Airports says the taxi service runs 24 hours a day.

This page does not print those fares: we could not confirm on 9 October 2026 whether the 2021 schedule has since been replaced, and Hermes Airports' public transport page showed no indicative taxi fares to the resorts when we opened it. The schedule is linked in the sources below. Ask the driver for the fixed fare to your destination before setting off.

Rides within a town run on the urban meter. The tariff below is from regulation K.D.P. 293/2022, published on 22 July 2022 and in force from 1 August 2022. The Deputy Ministry of Tourism's transport page showed the same amounts on 9 October 2026.

All amounts include VAT. The €2.00 holiday supplement applies only on the dates the regulation lists: 24, 25, 26 and 31 December, 1 January, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday and 1 May. It should not be assumed on other public holidays.

Rural and interurban taxis have their own tariffs. Their official tariff PDFs would not open on 9 October 2026, so no rural or interurban figures appear here.

How this page was compiled

This page is desk research, and nobody rode these buses for it. On 9 October 2026 we opened each operator's own fare page, route page or timetable PDF, plus the two taxi regulations, and kept only the figures printed there.

Not confirmed: road distances and drive times; most journey times; through fares and connections on journeys with a change; when the seasonal Kapnos shuttles run; which night fare applies on Paphos buses; rural and interurban taxi tariffs; any amendment to the 2021 airport schedule; the current alignment of routes 407 and 430; Limassol Airport Express booking and luggage rules; and whether the undated Kapnos timetables hold for a given date. Fares and timetables change, so check the operator's page before you travel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which airport for Protaras, Cyprus?

Larnaca Airport (LCA): of the two airports, it is the only one with a confirmed direct shuttle to Protaras, and that shuttle is seasonal. Kapnos Airport Shuttle lists an adult fare of €15 and a journey of about 65 minutes on a page dated 28 June 2026, but its current timetable showed no departures on 9 October 2026, so check before you travel.

Is there a bus from Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa?

Yes, in season. Kapnos Airport Shuttle's page dated 28 June 2026 lists daily departures from Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa Square from 02:30 to 23:25 (from 04:00 on Fridays), a journey of 44 to 45 minutes in normal traffic and adult fares from €13 one way. On 9 October 2026 the route's current timetable showed no departures, so check it for your dates.

How do I get from Paphos Airport to Limassol?

Take the Limassol Airport Express, a direct coach from Paphos Airport to Agios Georgios Havouzas station in Limassol. The adult fare is €10 and the child fare (ages 3 to 12) €5 on the timetable valid from 1 July 2026, checked 9 October 2026. Departures differ by day of the week, and the operator asks passengers to request a revised itinerary for public holidays.

How many airports are in Cyprus?

Two international airports serve the Republic of Cyprus: Larnaca (LCA) and Paphos (PFO), both operated by Hermes Airports. Scheduled airport coaches to Limassol and Nicosia start at both, while the seasonal shuttles to Ayia Napa and Protaras start at Larnaca Airport only.

How much is a taxi from Larnaca or Paphos Airport?

Airport taxi journeys are charged from a schedule of fixed fares by destination, with separate day and night fares, under regulation K.D.P. 79/2021 (in force from 1 March 2021). We could not confirm on 9 October 2026 that it is still current, so its figures are not quoted here. The schedule itself is linked in the sources above.
