Coral Bay is the main resort beach of the Peyia area, a short drive north of Paphos. The beach is a crescent of soft golden sand, around 600 metres long, enclosed by a pair of low limestone headlands that shelter the bay and keep the water calm and shallow. That setting, plus the full range of facilities behind the sand, makes it the most popular family beach in the Paphos area. It holds Blue Flag status.

The shallow, gentle entry suits children and weaker swimmers, while the headlands at each end offer rockier spots for snorkelling. Sunbeds, umbrellas and watersports operate along the beach, and lifeguards are on duty during the main season. A strip of tavernas, cafes and shops sits just behind, so it is easy to spend a full day here without moving far. The bay can get busy at the height of summer, but the deep, soft sand and the protected water keep it a comfortable choice for a relaxed family day on the Paphos coast.

Visiting Coral Bay

  • Blue Flag beach with lifeguards through the summer season.
  • Sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, toilets and watersports on the sand.
  • Tavernas, cafes and shops line the road above the beach.
  • Rockier ends of the bay are good for snorkelling.

Coral Bay is a good base for the Paphos coast: the wild, undeveloped Lara Beach and the gorge walk at Avakas Gorge lie further north on the Akamas, while the city's Tombs of the Kings and Paphos Archaeological Park are a short drive south.
