National forest park with sea caves
Cape Greco, also written Cavo Greko, is a headland and national forest park at the southeastern tip of Cyprus, within the Ayia Napa area. It marks the point where the coastline turns, and its low limestone cliffs, clear water and walking trails make it one of the most scenic stretches of the south coast.
The signature feature is the sea caves, hollows carved into the cliffs by the waves, where the water turns deep blue. Footpaths and a cycling route run along the headland past viewpoints, a small chapel and a natural rock arch. The park is planted with juniper and pine, giving some shade that is rare on this open coast.
Trails of varying length thread the park, and several spots allow swimming and cliff jumping into clear water, best attempted with care and only where conditions are calm. Cape Greco sits between the resort beaches of Konnos Bay and the long sands of Fig Tree Bay at nearby Protaras, so it fits easily into a day on this coast.
Wear sturdy shoes for the rocky paths, bring water and sun cover as shade is patchy, and take care near the cliff edges and when entering the water.
